AYT #66: Confusing Morgan Freeman

gallery_image_sightseersThis week, Joe and Erik talk about movies they haven’t seen and then find even more (again) to appreciate about Ben Wheatley‘s Sightseers which they reviewed back in February when it screened at PIFF 36. The film opens this Friday in select cities and VOD, and in case it’s not obvious we really, really love this film — one so nice we’ve reviewed it twice — and think you should see it. Talking about the film and its director leads to a dark, amusing black hole of discussion on revenge and rape in the movies, and the value (if any) of extreme cinematic violence. For the finish, an appreciation of Drafthouse Films and Sarah Polley‘s latest, Stories We Tell.
