Join the School of Film this summer to explore gathering the essential information and factual evidence in an interview through the most economical means possible.

Topics: different interviewing styles; selecting interview subjects; planning and researching the interview; basic lighting, sound recording, and shooting techniques; relaxing and empowering the interviewee; formulating questions; choosing locations for filming; using available light; thinking on your feet as the interview unfolds; ethical considerations; media management of interview material; conduct at least two out-of-class interviews and bring in footage for class critique.

Prerequisites: None
Allocated gear: Canon XA-10 HD cameras, basic microphones
Qualifies for Avid discount

The workshop runs Mondays, JUL 11-AUG 1, 6:30pm to 9:30pm, at the Northwest Film Center School of Film (934 SW Salmon).
