Top Down Trailer of the Day: The Hunger

The Hunger bowie

Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon make a comely vampire ménage à trois in this steamy cult story of the undead from recently deceased director Tony Scott. John and Miriam Blalock (Bowie and Deneuve) are a New York City vampire couple for the ages, but John’s 200+ years are catching up with him. Miriam seeks help from a brilliant doctor studying the aging process (Sarandon), which leads to a memorable, erotically charged seduction scene in the name of eternity. Upon release, David Bowie dryly commented,  “I must say, there’s nothing that looks like it on the market.”  (97 mins.)

THE HUNGER screens at our Top Down: Rooftop Cinema series on Thursday, August 22 atop Hotel deLuxe’s parking structure (at SW 15th and Yamhill).  Doors are at 7p.m.; band at 8p.m.; film at 9p.m.  Advanced tickets and early arrival are highly recommended for guaranteed entry to the event, as these shows are extremely popular and do sell out.
