Northwest Tracking: A STANDING STILL w/ director Scott Ballard in attendance

A Standing Still 2

Scott Ballard, who has worked extensively as a cinematographer and short filmmaker, follows up his first feature WELCOMING DEPARTURE (2012) with this story of a young recluse. A STANDING STILL revolves around Allison (Sara Robbin), who works as a fire lookout in the forest and struggles with the future in the midst of loss and displacement. When she is called down early for a medical emergency with her father, she is forced to face the present and the past that has led her there. Shot on location in Portland; Cannon Beach; Bellingham, Washington; and the Willamette National Forest. (75 mins.)

Director Scott Ballard will lead an audience Q&A following the screening.

A STANDING STILL screen Tuesday, May 6 at 7pm in our Whitsell Auditorium (located in the Portland Art Museum).  The film is being presented as part of our ongoing Northwest Tracking series.

Tickets are available online or at the door.
